Inter, Conte ahead of Milan derby: "We need to get rid of bad habits"

What was a strong start to the season by picking up three victories out of three in Serie A was soured this week for Inter when they tied Slavia Prague 1-1 at home in their Champions League debut. They get the chance to turn the page quickly, however, as they will face their city rivals Milan tomorrow in the famous derby. Antonio Conte had this to say at his press conference: "In all of the games we try to put maximum effort and provide and excellent performance and follow our preparations. Sometimes we succeed at this profoundly, other times not so much. What the guys do put in is a huge commitment. We know that we have a lot of work to do and to get better, this certainly doesn't scare us."

On the quarrel between Lukaku and Brozovic: "I sincerely think that Inter is subject to a lot of rumors in general in the newspapers and on TV. They told me that it's normal, but it can't be normal that in the last few years these things filtered out and the situation needs to be accepted. We say normal, but other clubs are good at managing these situations. We must get a lot better at this, even off the pitch there are huge gaps and we need to fill them together. The excuses of the past are no good, otherwise even I could say that in the last few years we never fought. We're looking to change everything together."

On Giampaolo: "That what he has achieved he has deserved. He served an important apprenticeship, as did I. Everyone has a path, he deserved this opportunity because he is prepared, he is a coach that is obsessed with football like myself. Therefore, I compliment him."

Trapattoni says coaching Inter is like being inside a centrifuge: "What the masters say should never be contradicted. If Trapattoni said it I believe it, for what he has given to my career. Surely it isn't easy, you need to be capable of getting rid of bad habits. For now we have spoken about the field, but even off the pitch there are bad habits that give reason for these statements. You don't only win on the field, you win off of it. Those who tell me 'Eh, but it was like this in the past too,'  I don't accept it. We need to change the engine speed."
