A target that had to be reached within three years since he signed for the club, a scudetto that Inter conquered during the second year under Antonio Conte: the coach's satisfaction is clear through his words about the bond created with the team since their first day together.
Conte has explained this success in a long Sky Sport interview: "Season isn't finished yet, we want to give more space to the players who have played less for some choices. There's been a tactical path in these two years, we've started like we finished last season, with the same football idea in the first 10/12 matches. But a big team doesn't need one script, it has to study the opponents without changing. This aspect led us to make this gap from the others, there was no story".
The coach continues: "At the start of the season I said I needed the growth of every individual player. And they did it, this is the biggest satisfaction. They are no more players who play, but players who win. The best thing I found is a group that was totally confident in my proposal and my leadership.
"Inter plays a modern football, we can play in every way: build-up from the back, counterattacks, waiting. Players can recognise the moments of the game, I like very much my team and seeing again matches and goals. I've never told a 'good lie' to my players not to come to the fight. This is the basis for me to create a strong bond with my players".
