Giampiero Ventura will be putting his trust on his ex-striker duo from Torino: Immobile and Belotti, for the qualifier against Albania. Here is what the Lazio striker had to say in the press conference ahead of the match:
“Playing Albania won’t be a walk in the park, there is a reason they qualified to the Euro Cup. It’s important for me to feel the trust of the coach, for this reason I want to thank Ventura and Inzaghi for their constant support. Belotti and I have great chemistry. We have a wonderful relationship: there is no rivalry. If I could take any of his attributes, it would be his heading. Together we’ve done well, but we need a team around us to succeed. Like Buffon says, we’re very strong, reaching the World Cup is a must”.
Belotti isn’t the only old friend in this squad: “The year at Pescara allowed Insigne, Verratti, and me to take the next step: It’s great to see them all here. This team has grown in self confidence”.
