One of the first turning points for Zlatan Ibrahimovic's career was his arrival at Juventus where he found Fabio Capello. This week the two were reunited for an interview on Fox Sport during the "Collezione Capello" series, the Swedish striker talked about his time in Italy as well as his future.
This is what Ibrahimovic had to say about joining Juventus:"I right away had a great impression. I remember what Capello told me "Throw away the Ajax style and you'll become a great player. We practiced a lot in front of the net, then Capello gave me the Van Basten video tape as a gift. When he told me to come to the locker I thought I had done something wrong"
Ibrahimovic joined Inter next:"It had been 17 years since Inter had won the league and I told myself: if I go to Inter I'll make history for this club. In the last match of the season in Parma, my knee was hurting but I came into the game and I was decisive with two goals. I remember it was raining a lot and that before the goal I had tried a similar shot that missed, but with the second try it went well"
Ibrahimovic would then join Milan after playing for Barcelona:"My family was very happy in Milano. I was talking to Galliani and president Berlusconi who convinced me to come with great desire and stimulus. It was a great team. When we won the title, I remember Galliani came into the locker room with an Inter jersey in his hand, he took the scudetto off it in front of us and said "Now this is ours"
Probably the most tumultuous period of Ibrahimovic's career was his time at Barcelona:"Everything was going fine until Christmas when Guardiola changed the style of play and I didn't fit in. I talked to him and he told me he would sort things out. Instead I went to the bench. I didn't go to him because I didn't have a problem with him. He was the one who had a problem with me. Still today I don't know what that is about. Facing him today still gives me a rush"
Then came the transfer to Paris St Germain:"I didn't want to leave Milan. When you feel well, you just feel well. I just wanted to play and I remembered what happened at Barcelona where I wasn't comfortable"
Will Zlatan return to Italy?: "Will I join Napoli? You never know. But I'm happy here at Manchester united. We'll see what happens"
