Getting back where it all begun, wearing an important shirt and remembering how these technic skills, paired with a good physical condition, can make a difference. Adel Taarabt will be on Milan's way: the Moroccan talent from Genoa, after wearing Milan's shirt in 2014, will now be on the pitch again that has been his for half a season. He's been interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"At the beginning of my career I only counted on my talent. I didn't believe running was important, nor playing for the team. I wanted to win in my own may. I've now understood that football is a collective sport, that in order to be a complete player you have to know how to suffer. I'm getting back, I'm not the one I used to be yet but I'm getting there. Juric? Since I'm a little boy I've found coaches that have treated me like a son, but then at Benfica it didn't go like that. I've wanted too much too soon, I didn't handle the situation well and didn't give my best at the trainings. You always have to give your best with Juric. He's correct though, if you show him you've understood he resets it all. When I got at Genova I was out of shape and had some problems. I've understood than I had to meet him so I went to talk to him. Juric has told me that if I did the things right we could start over. I don't know if we could be called friends, but he's changed my life. Even on the physical point of vue, I've lost 11 kilos. Pilati and the whole staff have contributed to that. It's not been simple and I didn't like that, but it all gets natural now. If I don't train for one day I now don't feel alright: I feel the need to run".
About Milan: "This experience has mentally massacred me. I've done well in rossonero, I wanted to stay as I was about to sign my contract. Then Inzaghi got here and he made some other choices. Getting back to QPR, after playing in Champions League with champions like Kakà, was difficult".
"Balotelli is a friend. Three weeks ago he was at Genova to meet me, I've been at Monaco to see him with my former president Briatore. He's like me, he needs affection. From that Milan there still is Zapata, Montolivo and Abate. Facing them will be something, I've lived 6 beautiful months with them, in a fantastic club. They've now changed so much and with 11 new players; it's not easy to build a team, but the important thing is Milan have invested a lot and they're going to the top. It's good for the Italian football".
About his role on the pitch: "I'm now closer to the goal, looking to make some assists: it's my favorite zone on the field where I played when I was a boy to do like my idol, Zidane. I have to participate to the defensive phase only mentally, not physically so that I'm more lucid in the goal area. My objective is to get back to my best level. I thought it couldn't be possible anymore but with that physic state I can turn back to play well and win with Genoa. It would lovely to get a song from the rossoblù fans".
