An incredible season is a way to describe the way Antoine Griezmann performed recently. The French striker won the Europa League as an absolute protagonist prior to becoming a World Champion with France in Russia, Griezmann isn’t shy about how he feels he should be recognized: “I’m not afraid to say it, I dream of winning the Ballon d’Or- he told ESPN- I believe that at the personal level it’s the biggest honor you can receive. It would be nice to win it after all I went through, after separating with my family at the age of three. It would be a great joy for my family. This isn’t only about me, but also about all French players, it’s weird that world champions aren’t being considered”
Griezmann also discussed his decision to stay with Atletico Madrid: “I received a message from Godin who told me he was coming to my house to talk to me. Once he arrived, Simeone also came out of the car, they told me I didn’t have to make a decision immediately, but that I could take my time. They suggested I speak to my family, in the end I think I made right decision”
