The winter transfer market has been officially closed. Among the many movements of the last day, however, there are also those who have decided not to retouch their squad. This is the case of several Serie A big names, including Milan. The Rossoneri tried to put themselves on the trail of Nicolò Zaniolo, but the discussions with Roma did not take off. On the outside, however, in recent days there has been an attempt by a Premier League club to snatch Olivier Giroud from Milan.
On the French striker, in fact, it was Everton, who saw him as the ideal striker to help in the salvation fight in which the Toffees are involved in, in the League. Giroud is an old Premier acquaintance, where he spent much of his career with Arsenal and Chelsea.
On Monday, January 30, Everton offered Giroud a contract until June 2023, bonuses included in case they don't get relegated. However, Giroud had decided to refuse and stay at Milan.
Giroud's numbers at Milan
Arriving from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, Giroud soon became a key player for Milan. Star man of the Scudetto win last season, in Rossoneri he has collected 24 goals in 64 games. This year it is at 10, between Serie A and Champions League games.
The Premier League is the league in which Giroud has the most appearances ever: to be exact it is 255. Arriving at Arsenal from Montpellier in 2012, in total he has scored 90 goals in the English league.
