There’s no doubt that Krysztof Piatek’s unbelievable scoring streak has been one of the juiciest story lines in Serie A this season. The Polish striker has now scored in his first 7 matches in Italy’s top division, and in an exclusive interview with GianlucaDiMarzio.com Genoa’s president Enrico Preziosi described how they discovered him- it all started with a dinner with Piatek’s agent Gabriele Giuffrida: “He told me his name Piatek. I told him what I say to everyone, let me see the videos. He had them ready, we watched them and it was love at first sight. I thought I was rewatching Gigi Riva: he has a precise shot, great at headers, he never hesitates, he’s in the middle of the rule of play and he arrives first on pretty much every ball”
Preziosi had previously tried to sign Lewandowski but this time he closed the deal: “The negotiation? It was very short, almost non existent. Cracovia made a request to us, and we made a slight adjustment to our needs. We found an agreement in half a second. He’s one of the best in Italy, not just in Europe, but the world. Krzysztof has the potential to be better than Lewandoski, much better”
