The heavy loss to Inter yesterday spelled the end of Thiago Motta's tenure as Genoa's manager. President Preziosi is pondering his options to replace him and has to now decide between Diego Lopez and Davide Ballardini.
This morning there more conversations with Ballardini, whose candidacy is gaining traction in the past few hours despite the past acrimony in the relationship, the parties are working on finding an agreement. Preziosi will also meet with Diego Lopez who returned to Italy to discuss a potential return to Serie A after previously managing Cagliari and Bologna. Following the meeting Preziosi will make his decision.
