With Gonzalo Higuain moving closer to a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, Milan are focused on finding his replacement. Polish striker Kryszstof Piatek is the front runner and in a recent interview on Radio CRC Genoa’s sporting director Giorgio Perinetti gave an update on the situation:”We are experiencing the Higuain drama and it could involve us. We said we aren’t going to go out and offer Piatek, Romero and Kouame and it’s not our intention to sell them but they are players that garnering interest”
Has Milan already contacted Genoa? “No, nothing happened yet. There haven’t been any contacts with Leonardo, but it’s likely that we’ll meet if they want to see us. It’s not easy for us to lose our center forward, but we have to listen to offers. Could Balotelli replace Piatek? No, I don’t think it’s a potential option. Certainly though if Polish striker leaves we need to replace him”
