After securing the signing of Mattia Destro from Bologna, Genoa are looking to add another striker to their team in order to avoid relegation at the end of the season. In the last few days, the rossoblu club have started to evaluate their options for the attack and a name currently being considered is that of Colombian forward Roger Martinez. The former Jiangsu Suning and Villareal 24-year-old player, currently at Mexican side America, could be an alternative to Krmenick, who is Genoa's current number one target for the striker postion.
The Italian club has made contact with Martinez in the past few hours as they are considering to buy him with the same transfer formula they used to sign Sanabria last year: that is a six-months loan through June 2020 with an option to buy at the end of the loan. Another possibility could be that of agreeing another six-month loan with an option to extend the loan deal for an additional season, through June 2021, and also including an option-to-buy clause at the end of that period.
