After 18 years, Genoa is set to change owners, president Enrico Preziosi is nearing the sale of the club to American private equity firm 777 Partners.
The deal between the parties to sell the club has been reached, but no announcement will be made Wednesday. There is no knowledge yet of the exact scope of the deal, but there is a good chance Preziosi will remain in a role at Genoa for three more seasons.
It was Preziosi himself who had announced that he would like to sell the club while also remaining in an administrative role for some years after: nothing has been made certain yet on this.
Genoa will soon have American owners backing their operations, joining other Serie A clubs Roma, Milan, Fiorentina, Spezia, Venezia, and Serie B's Parma.
