"We spoke to Inter in recent hours, but as of today we have yet to receive an offer from them" this is what Gabigol's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, told Sky Sport. Juventus has been taking concrete steps to sign the striker born in 1996 but now Inter is joining the race. The nerazzurri made a phone call to get information, they wanted to know how much it would cost to acquire him- they were told €25 million which would cover also the third party ownership. Inter's sporting director Ausilio has known the player and his agents for years, and now the first contacts with the intermediaries that collaborate with Kia Jooranchian have started.
A key factor in the race is Gabigol's intention to join a club on a permanent basis in Europe rather than being loaned to develop. The striker's father is also playing a key role in his future, he has been negotiating with Juventus- while they have agreed in principle to the terms of a contract, they have yet to do so on the percentage of the transfer. The bianconeri however don't intend to increase their offer to €25 million, they also won't participate in a bidding war to bring him to Turin.
Juventus won't change their stance, they're banking on the player's appreciation for the destination- Inter knows that they'll have to compete with the bianconeri should they make a concrete attempt for Gabigol.
