From Higuain to Piatek: the words of Gattuso on the eve of Genoa-Milan

Milan will restart their Serie A campaign tomorrow against Genoa. It has been an interesting time for the rossoneri as their big summer signing, Gonzalo Higuain, is on the verge of leaving the squad for Chelsea. Gennaro Gattuso spoke to the media ahead of the match, including his thoughts on his striker's imminent departure: "Higuain? I want to be honest with you all. We had a poor training session today due to all these rumours. We spoke after the training session and I did not consider him ready for this game. I accept his decision. Surely he could have done more and maybe we could have helped him fit in better. Right now we have to work with professionalism and determination, all these rumours have not helped us lately and we have to look ahead."

"Piatek? He has very precise characteristics. I must think of tomorrow's game. If Higuain leaves, we are losing a very important player, who had difficulty. Gonzalo was not a burden, but now we must train with calmness."
