Arsène Wenger is convinced this Germany side needs Mesut Ozil. He's analyzed Joachim Low's team negative moment with Bild. The offensive midfielder from Arsenal left the national team in July, after polemics related to his Turkish roots - according to the French coach - but could be a player able to resolve the team's problems: "I think this team needs Ozil. I hope Low convinces him to return".
"Mesut is a great player, he certainly hasn't been the worst in Russia. Obviously, a bit of the motivations goes away when you know you're not ready for a World Cup or an European one".
Wenger is still looking for a team after having left Arsenal: a 22-year relationship which ended at the sixth position in Premier League, with Unai Emery who seems to have given the Gunners a new life. The French manager could instead go for another asiatic experience after the one he had with Nagoya Grampus in 95-96: "I believe I'll be ready to work again by January 2019. The future? There are so many clubs, so many national teams. Thanks to my long experience at Arsenal I've lived great experiences on different levels, reason why I've had requests from all over the world".
