With a photo taken from up in the air, with the beautiful view of Valencia down below, Alessandro Florenzi closed his brief Spanish experience with the La Liga club. As the club failed to reach Europa League after losing to Sevilla on the last match day of the season, Florenzi's six months in Spain has ended.
The class of 1991 winger posted on his Instagram, sharing: "Valencia welcomed me with affection and warmth. We needed to challenge many teams on the pitch, then we found ourselves playing for a single team against an unexpected and terrible opponent" (referring to the coronavirus, which stopped play across the globe).
Florenzi arrived in January on a dry loan from Roma with the objective to play more minutes before the Euro tournament. He appeared 13 times between La Liga and Copa del Rey matches.
"Thank you, thank you truly for making me feel at home. Thanks to all the members of the club: from the first to the last. Thanks to my teammates: a group of fantastic players. Bye, Valencia...thank you!!"
Florenzi's future is a bit up in the air at this point, but his agent Alessandro Lucci has visited Fiorentina in the past weeks, as the team has been interested in the player for some time. However, Atalanta will be giving Fiorentina competition for Florenzi's talents.
