Fiorentina and manager Stefano Pioli look to return to their winning ways after going more than two months without a victory. They face Empoli tomorrow afternoon and Pioli spoke to the press leading up to the match.
"We'll begin again from the last 15' against Sassuolo, we prepared for situations of play that could give us an advantage and we should be good to put them into practice. It's difficult to say if this is the most important match since I've arrived in Florence. Surely it won't be decisive for our objectives. We've lacked a victory for some time and it starts to weigh on you. They'll be three heavy points."
"I'm as motivated as I've been since my first matches here at Fiorentina. We know that this match against Empoli is an important one and what I saw during the week was very positive. You need quality and a determined spirit to win matches. The missed opportunities to win against Bologna and Frosinone have penalized us, they could have changed things. The squad was a bit careless, that was the problem. The standings, however, have remained short."
Pioli then spoke on Simeone, who found the net against Sassuolo after struggling to score for some time: "The goal was important for him. During the week he's shown positive signs. The determined player that we know has returned."
The same cannot be said for Pjaca, however, the signing of the summer who has missed the past three matches: "You cannot discuss his qualities, but his production is not at its maximum. He needs to react better psychologically, only then will he return to his high level."
