Fiorentina hopes to follow up on their previous two consecutive victories in Serie A and to close in on a qualifying spot for Europe: these are the objectives of Fiorentina who will face off against Genoa tomorrow in a matchup which was previously suspended.
Paulo Sousa spoke in a press conference ahead of the match: “I never thought I would have to replay a match that had already begun, but I will prepare for this game as if it was any other. We have many games in a short period of time meaning that the most important thing will be to adequately recover after each match. Genoa? It is a team which, at the moment, is superior to us from a physical standpoint. Juric has a very offensive style of football. It will be an interesting and balanced game, but I hope that the continuity which we have found will ultimately allow us to win.”
Sousa also spoke about individual players such as Borja Valero who could return after his absence against Sassuolo: “I have not yet spoken with the doctors, but have seen that Borja Valero is recovering. We will see how it goes today. Toledo has almost been fully integrated while we still must evaluate the status of Babacar. Kalinic? Many players change their minds when in front of goal. Nikola is both an extraordinary player and person from a human and technical-tactical perspective.”
