Trequartista or mezzala, it doesn't matter: the important thing is to give everything. This is Gerson's mantra. The Brazilian midfielder is getting more and more playing time at Fiorentina where he shows all his qualities. He'll face Juventus tomorrow as one of the main actors of his team. Difficult, but not impossible. Gerson believes they can have a positive result as he told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Juventus is a really nice team, they have champions like Ronaldo, Costa, Matuidi... And I could go on. You can't be unbeatable in football though. We want to win: we'll need personality, to play well and cool minds. We'll have to remain focused and get energy from our fans because one thing's sure: we never back down from a fight, and tomorrow will not be an exception".
If Gerson starts to showing his value in the team, there are players like Pjaca or Simeone who are struggling a bit. No fear though, they'll return soon according to Gerson. "Pjaca? When you put in your mind you have to do certain things to amaze everyone, then you can't do it. Marko doesn't rest, he'll soon return as the player everyone expects him to be. Simeone? It's true he hasn't scored in a while but he's always where he's supposed to be: he's the first to give a hand to the team, even in the defensive phase. It's our role as midfielders to make one more step for him and the other forwards".
Chiesa has no problems though, as he's now one of the most important Fiorentina players: "I'll tell you something, I love football so much I like to watch every possible game, even the Brazilian ones. When I saw Chiesa playing last year I thought "This one's really strong". Now that I'm playing by his side I can tell everything's amplified: he's even stronger than I though".
