With Vincenzo Montella’s squad leaving for the retreat in Moena this morning, the Rocco Commisso era has begun at Fiorentina. The American entrepreneur spoke to Sole 24 Ore about his plans for the Tuscan club:”I’m 69 years old and I told myself if I don’t do this now when will I. I don’t have much time and I want to leave a mark, so I launched myself into his challenge. I want to do something for Florence and Fiorentina, I want to leave something. The new stadium? I told the mayor if they let me do it then I’ll be ready”
Commisso discussed the future of the biggest star on his team:”I won’t make the same mistake that was done with Baggio with Chiesa. Roby Baggio was the best and they only sold him for money. I’m not sure what his contract says and if there are specific clauses, but as far as I’m concerned, he’s our champion and I won’t sell him even for 100 million”.
