After selling numerous veteran players last summer, Fiorentina is starting a new cycle around Federico Chiesa. The “figlio d’arte” was born into the game since his father Enrico was a prominent Serie A player in the 90s, he talked about his influences and his future in an interview with Corriere dello Sport:”The fact of being born into the game has never really interested me, I never saw it as a privilege or responsibility. In football they play you if you’re good not because of who your father is. My favorite team growing up? I never supported a team, but I had a lot of passion for the Milan with champions, the one with Kaka’ who always was my idol. The most important coach? Paulo Sousa because he had confidence in me and gave me the chance to make my debut in Serie A. Will I stay here for life? This I don’t know because I honestly just focus on practicing, the match on Sunday, that is my only concern. My sights are set on the calendar and results”
