After the excitement of signing a new contract and the adrenaline of a new challenge, after the six wins in friendly games before the start of the season, Andrea Stramaccioni now has some doubts and need to reflect on those.
The coach is in fact thinking about leaving Estheglal (Iran) after two months, only 10 days before the season kicks off.
He’ll take 48 hours to decide whether he’ll continue or not this adventure.
Despite the affection of the Iranian fans and a great unveiling of his signing, Stramaccioni has a few reasons to reflect on his future.
First one his the fact Ali Khalir, the club’s sporting director who brought the Mister at Esteghlal, has left. Second one is tied to the transfer window. To this day, the only arrival is Diabaté, former Benevento striker while a few foreign signings have been missed because of different reasons; Esteghlal has in fact tried to get Pucciarelli (Chievo), Dramé (ex Atalanta) and Milic, fullback from Croyone sent back on his way before signing his contract in Iran.
Milic’s agent had been in Teheran for two days to close the deal, the former Fiorentina player arrived from Belgrade as the agreement had been reached, everything was settled and he just had to take his medical before signing his contract but everything has been canceled for a visa problem. Three similar episodes in 15 days after Pucciarelli and Dramé deals got cancelled for the same reason.
After a confrontation with the bord during the night, Stramaccioni will now take 48 hours to decide whether he’ll resign or bring forward the project he was chosen for, after many promises, made at the time of the signing, were not kept.
