Enzo Maresca joins Manchester City as a member of first team's staff, as confirmed by club's official statement.
Maresca is a 42 year old Italian coach. His portfolio includes experiences with Manchester City under 21, Manchester City under 23 and Parma.
Maresca had some success with the Manchester City Elite Development Squad helping them achieve and win the Premier League 2 title in the 2020/21 campaign. However, in May 2021 he departed from the club and decided to take on a new challenge in Parma and stayed there until November.
Upon his return the coach said: “I am very happy to be back at Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
He also added: “I gained a lot from my season here coaching the EDS (Elite Development Squad )… am very proud that Pep has asked me to return, this time as part of the first team backroom staff”.
The club director of football Txiki Begiristain stated: “We are delighted to welcome Enzo back to Manchester City… His experience in a number of leagues and relationship with many of our current staff and players will be an invaluable asset to Pep and his team.”
