Genoa are very close to signing Swedish left winger Muamer Tankovic, born in 1995, who made 28 appearances in the Swedish league, scoring also 14 golas. Tankovic played in the youth squad of Fulham and AZ Alkmaar before returning to Sweden at Hammarby two seasons ago. Despite playing mainly on the wing, Tankovic proved to be quite a prolific player, especially with his runs behind the defenders, a profile that has similar characteristics to injured Kouamé.
Genoa are in fact thinking about replacing the Ivorian, who will be sidelined for several months with a ruptured cruciate ligament, with the 24-year old Swede. Tankovic, who was one of the most surprising players of the Swedish league last season, has made a couple of appereances with Sweden. The Rossoblu club's intention is to sign Tankovic in the January transfer window and an agreement between parties is close to being reached for a sum in the region of €2 million, as the player's contract is set to expire next June.
