Empoli coach Andreazzoli sacked, Iachini favorite to succeed him

Empoli have opted to sack coach Aurelio Andreazzoli after the team collected just 6 points from their opening 11 matches, placing them 18th in Serie A. The Tuscan club officially announced the move, thanking him for the work to bring the club in the top flight for this season by winning Serie B last season. The leading candidate to take over the job is Giuseppe Iachini.
