Director Monchi honored by Sevilla fans before match marking his farewell

The Sevilla fans unveiled an enormous banner outside of the home stadium to honor Monchi, the their sporting director and beloved lifetime figure ahead of his planned departure from the club. The banner, reading "Glory eternal. Legend Sevillista." was part of an emotional day of tributes at during the match against Deportivo. The legendary director famed for his discovery of talent appeared on the pitch wearing the shirt of Antonio Puerta, a Sevilla player who died on 2007 after collapsing on the pitch during a match. The fans came out in the show of recognition for their great director, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo known just as Monchi.
