Dinamo Zagreb, after their 3-0 defeat against Lyon in Group H, will look to improve their Champions League hopes tomorrow against group favorites Juventus, who tied 0-0 against Sevilla on the first day of group play. Tomorrow, both teams will face off in Croatia. It will be a fascinating match for Zeljko Sopic, who has arrived just recently to lead Dinamo on an interim basis. In a recent press conference, he said that Juventus was one of the favorites to win the Champions League: "We're coming up against a great team," - Sopic said - "the bianconeri this year have already demonstrated their strength and I'm sure they could win the Champions League trophy. The match tomorrow? We have prepared well, thoroughly studying every nuance: we are absolutely ready. We will have the full stadium behind us and, while we are aware of their strength, we will have no fear."
Marko Pjaca and Mario Mandzukic are current Juventus players who have spent a part of their respective careers at Dinamo. Sopic talked about the two Croatians in his press conference: "I played with Mandzukic when he was young, but I remember his courage. Pjaca, in perspective, is one of the best players in the world. I have seen few players much like him. Their lineup tomorrow? Allegri has 30 players who are all strong, it will not make a difference if he starts Chiellini or Bonucci, Dani Alves or Cuadrado. Higuain on the bench for 3 games? It means that he was not ready yet."
He closed the conference speaking about his home debut as interim manager: "When I became the coach I always thought to keep our feet on the ground. I was born in Zagreb: I'm a soldier of this club and for me, it was a great honor to be chosen as the first team's coach. The future? Now I'm not thinking about it, but it would not be a problem if I were to be replaced. Now I think only about the present and Juventus."
