The fourth Matchday in the Serie A TIM was the day of happiness for bianconeri fans and a sign of relief for Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo, as he finally scored his first two goals of the campaign. However, this is considered only half of the 'big' news from the match, as the other was an ongoing event that continued to take place throughout the 90' between Federico Di Francesco and Douglas Costa. The Brazilian's actions (headbutt, elbow, spit) toward Di Francesco, will result in a disqualification of some sort; later today, the sentence from the Sporting Judge will be announced.
Shortly after the match, the attacker apologized to his teammates, fans, and the club for the incident through a message posted on Instagram, however, many of his followers noticed that in the long post he created there was no real apology to Federico Sassuolo's Di Francesco. "I have woken up at 5 am since I was 12 years old. You do not know what he [Di Francesco] said to me... but nevermind... I apologize to all those to who have to ask about it, because I am in the wrong", added the Brazilian on a comment. This therefore insists that he purposely did not want to apologize to the Italian.
This morning, there have been many hypotheses on the incident and Federico Di Francesco has responded to these: "I am deeply disturbed by the allegations that have appeared on some national media. All of this is offensive and derogatory. I do not allow myself to be attributed to racist behaviour and / or phrases that do not belong to my ethical values and which are the result of the imagination of others. I ask and I demand respect!".
