Two months ago, Crotone seemed destined to be relegated. With their victory against Lazio, they secured their salvation in Serie A courtesy of Diego Falcinelli's 13 league goals. The striker will return to Sassuolo this summer after spending this season on loan to Crotone. He wrote a message on Facebook thanking the Crotone fans. It reads:
"I did not believe in fairy tales and I am not a romantic. A few months ago, I started to read a story to my daughter every night before she went to sleep and I realized that there is good in each one of us."
"The story starts a long time ago: there was a good group of players on a new stage with multiple difficulties and very little certainty. Each matchday passed and every bloody Tuesday we were training regardless of the results we faced. Despite everything, we knew that if we worked hard and maintained the same enthusiasm and hunger, things would change for the better... This group became a team; men who would fight side by side on the pitch and would defend the city and its colors."
