The first numbers are in his favor: three goals and a lot of great games despite the only three matches he started. Joaquin Correa is one of the new Lazio fans' idols, after he got in Rome last summer driven by admiration for his football "Godfather", Sebastian Veron, former teammate during his beginnings as a professional footballer.
"A lot of people follow Lazio in Argentina, I used to watch Veron's games with my dad as a child, at the time when they won the Scudetto. I was fine at Sevilla but wanted a new adventure. I've started in an excellent way here" has he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
His objectives are clear: the national team and the Champions League. "We can do it, I think the missed qualification last year has to give us the stimulus to reach it this year. There are other strong teams but we've got our chances. The Selecciòn? I thought I would have gone to the world cup but it didn't go that way: I'll do my best to come back. You do a lot of dribbles in Spain, while here there's a lot of attention on tactics and I think I can improve a lot, especially in the defensive phase. I think I could grow with Lazio".
From Inzaghi to the city, the first impact has been positive: "The coach is very well prepared, he knows what to do and credits goes to him if I feel good in the group today. Regarding the city, it's marvelous. My family often come to visit me, and even with my girlfriend, we're slowly discovering how beautiful the city is. I'd now like to meet the Pope: he's a reason for great pride among us Argentines".
