You couldn’t have designed a better debut in the Copa Libertadores for Lautaro Martinez. The Racing striker played eighty two minutes and scored three goals against Cruziero. At the age of twenty Martinez is without a doubt one of the best debutants in South America’s version of the Champions League. This is great news for Inter who have sealed the deal to acquire him for €20 million, plus 2 million in bonuses with Racing receiving ten percent of his future resale. Martinez will also have an exit clause of over €100 million. In addition to Inter, Sampaoli can also smile about the performance- Argentina’s manager was in the stands for the match- the second time he saw Martinez score a hat trick in person after the match against Huracan. Martinez is pushing for a spot on the World Cup squad before he starts next chapter of his career in Italy
