CONI president Malagò: "It's only a matter of time until VAR is introduced in European competitions"

After the controversies in the mid-week European games, the introduction of VAR in Europe is one of the most debated topic in football's world. CONI president Giovanni Malagò voiced his opinion oin the matter in an interview with Tuttosport: "I've met Uefa's president Ceferin and we have also talked about VAR. I asked him why it has not been introduced in important European competitions yet. He explained that it's only a matter of time: there are referees from all 55 Uefa nations and having the same level of knowledge for everyone is not easy, but it will happen. I hope that it will be introduced already in the next Champions League's knockout stages, when the referees will have experienced VAR at the World Cup too. Regardless of the situations of the Italian teams, it's obvious that with VAR some of the horrible mistakes we've witnessed to in the last games wouldn't have happened".
