Italian football director Riccardo Bigon is set to be appointed by City Football Group as their new Technical Area Advisor. He'll work in co-operation with manager Brian Marwood in the clubs' development on football aspect.
Who is Riccardo Bigon, City Football Group's new Advisor?
51-years-old, Bigon was born in a football-related family: his father, Alberto, has been a Serie A player, winning the Scudetto with AC Milan. Riccardo has been a footballer too, on a Serie D level.
Then, he started a succesful career outside the pitch: as a sporting director, he lead Napoli back to the Champions League, working with the Azzurri from 2009 to 2015. After Napoli's good results, he went to Hellas Verona and then to Bologna, discovering many talents around Europe.
Now, he'll start a new adventure with City Football Group, witch includes such clubs as Manchester City (England), Troyes (France), Girona (Spain), Palermo (Italy), New York City FC (USA), Melbourne City (Australia) and many more.
