Maurizio Sarri will have a familiar face helping him get acclamaited to life at Stamford Bridge in Gianfranco Zola. The former Blues player will be Sarri’s top assistant at Chelsea, this is what he told Sky Sport about his new boss:”The first time I took notice of Maurizio was when I was at Cagliari. My experience there was short lived, I studied and analyzed numerous teams. The one that surprised me the most was Sarri’s Empoli. It was a lower table team that had a completely different attitude than other teams fighting to avoid relegation. They played like a big team, always attacking. Then he arrived at Napoli, and his ability become more evident to more people”
Zola expanded on what impressed him about Sarri’s Napoli, a team that finished with highest point total in Serie A without winning the title:”He’s a manager that always wants to take the initiative on the pitch. Someone who loves football couldn’t help but love his Napoli”
