After appointing Bruno Saltor as Interim Coach for the match against Liverpool, Chelsea have taken an important decision about their future manager: according to Sky Sports UK, club legend Frank Lampard is set to sign a deal as a caretaker until the end of the current season.
Lampard previously managed Chelsea for eighteen months, between 2019 and January 2021, when Thomas Tuchel took his place. Now, he is very close to returning to the West London side: contracts are likely to be signed in the next 24 hours.
Julian Nagelsmann is still one of the favourite candidates to become First Team Manager next season: as previously reported, he was not keen on joining now, wanting to take a break (he is currently on holiday after his Bayern sacking) in order to restart in Summer. Another profile linked to Chelsea is Luis Enrique, as former Barcelona and Spain boss has held talks in London today with Chelsea board.
