Arsenal have seen an opening bid rejected by Chelsea for Kai Havertz.
The Gunners have stepped up their interest in recent days and submitted their first offer on Friday.
However, it was rejected by Chelsea, who are holding out for £75 million, although parties involved feel they can strike a deal for less than this.
Chelsea ideally want to keep Havertz, but the player’s desire to join Arsenal and if the Blues’ demands are met, a deal can be agreed.
Havertz, who joined Chelsea in 2020 on a five-year contract, has gone on to make 139 appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists.
