Ten years have passed since he first joined Chelsea, and now the calls from London are becoming more frequent. Turning them down, especially now would be a difficult and surprising decision.
On August 8th 2011, Lukaku officially became a Chelsea player, now after two years spent in Italy, the Blues are looking to sign him once again after winning the Champions League.
Chelsea's recent bid to Inter reached €110 million, €100 million plus the rights to Marcos Alonso. So far the nerazzurri have been able to resist Abramovich's offer, but the offer is expected to be improved. Chelsea's new bid could reach €120 million, should no players be added, saying no to such a sum would be difficult for Zhang and Marotta,
For the negotiation to be successful, the player's will be the deciding factor. So far Lukaku has yet to say no to Chelsea's offer: Abramovich's project is amongst the most successful in Europe the past ten years and they could guarantee him a higher salary than what he earns in Milano.
In addition, there is talk of a having a cheaper squad at Inter moving forward, which makes Lukaku ponder the situation- his move to Chelsea could be both the biggest sale in Inter history and the most expensive purchase in the Premier League.
