Born in 2003, Cesare Casadei will be unveiled as a new Chelsea signing within this week. He is set to join the Blues from Inter Milan for a €20m package - €15m base fee plus €5m add-ons.
Deal been fully agreed on Tuesday morning and Inter are accepting Chelsea bid in this hours, in order to let Casadei fly to London tomorrow. Medicals are expected to be on Thursday.
WHO IS CESARE CASADEI?
Cesare Casadei is one of the most interesting Italian talents born in 2003. He has been a main-character in Inter U19's race for the title, last year. The Nerazzurri ended up winning the "Scudetto U19" and Casadei scored 17 goals.
He has the stats of a striker, but he isn't. Casadei plays as a centre-midfielder, and can put together good physicality (he's 6'1ft), great technique and ability to play in team. And of course, he can score: in two years playing in Inter U19 team he reached a score of 24 goals and 7 assists, in 65 games. Though, he has never made his debut with Inter first team.
BEHIND THE SCENES OF CASADEI DEAL
Alongside Chelsea - that, at first, wanted Casadei to be part of Lukaku's negotiations with Inter - the first club to approach Cesare Casadei this summer has been Torino FC. The Granata wanted to include him in Bremer-deal to Inter (which collapsed), with the Nerazzurri keeping a buy-back clause.
Then, Sassuolo asked info and French side, OGC Nice even sent an official bid. But Chelsea went back on the player and, after three offers, have now reached agreement. The first bid was around €7/8m, the second one €12m and the third (and decisive) one is €15m + €5m add-ons.
