Today it was an interlocutory day for the Lukaku deal for Chelsea. The Blues are ready to make steps forward in their pursuit of the Belgian as they ponder their next offer to the Nerzzurri. The objective of the club is to reach an agreement, however the Blues are also willing to include a player in the deal for the Nerazzurri's no. 9.
Abramovich's club is in fact willing to improve their offer to move closer to Inter's asking price of €130 million, however Chelsea would rather pay about €115/120 million: part in cash and part with the inclusion of a player as makeweight. That player could not be Marcos Alonso as Inter are not willing to incur in the costs that the transfer of the Spaniard would involve.
Tomorrow the club will have new talks, with Chelsea and Lukaku's entourage trying to persuade Inter to accept the offer that the Blues are set to submit to the Italian club.
To the English club it looks like that Inter could be more open to entertain in negotiations with Chelsea. The intermediaries have also worked today to fullfil the player's will to join Chelsea. The Blues are increasingly confident that an agreeent that could satisfy all the parties involved can be reached and they are also intrigued by the idea of breaking the Premier League transfer fee record set by Manchester City with the signing of Grealish.
