Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-0, but the back-and-forth comments between managers Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho are continuing. Lampard's latest comments were on the team's current roster, which includes many young players.
"If we are not patient and wait for our players, we could find ourselves in a situation that we've already been in, in which the best players on the global level were at Chelsea when they were 20 or 21, but the coaches didn't believe in them."
This was clearly pointed at Mourinho, who allowed players like De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku to leave the club and then become great players elsewhere. Lampard didn't stop here, but then spoke on the expulsion of Son and Rudiger's accusation of simulation.
"Antonio's correctness is not put in doubt. If we were to talk on simulation in the Premier League, we must cite a pair of episodes in which Tottenham players threw themselves in the area during the last 15 minutes to try and obtain and penalty. We can open this debate not only on Son's red card, but also many episodes that happen in many matches. I am with Antonio."
