After leading Empoli from the Serie B to the Serie A, Francesco Caputo now has a new mission. "I want to achieve salvation, I care a lot and I will work hard until the end for this goal," said the Italian attacker to Sky Sport.
This past matchday, the 31-year-old scored a brace against Chievo Verona to bring him to a total of 11 goals in the top tier of Italian football. "Personally I wanted to get into double figures and now that I've done it, I am enjoying myself. The goal that was the most important for me? The one I scored against Juventus remains in history, but every goal is important to me".
On playing with the Azzurri: "It's every player's dream, but I do not think about it because I already wear the blue of Empoli. As a kid my idol was Del Piero but I try to steal secrets from Immobile and Icardi who are the kind of player I like for how they move and play in the penalty area."
