Cagliari are gearing up for a new season, their first under coach Eusebio Di Francesco. The Sardinian club is also working on strengthening their squad, starting from the return of their key player Radja Nainggolan, however the deal is not an easy one, according to sporting director Carta: "We will make an attempt to get him. He is an "acquired Sardinian", I think that he would like to return here. However, it's all in Inter's hands and we have to wait. The ball is not in our court at the moment", Carta told Sky Sport.
The sporting director then revealed some of their plans for the transfer window: "We are close to signing youngsters Sottil from Fiorentina and Zappa from Pescara, two players that fit Di Francesco's system. Czyborra is also a profile that could fit our team. Pavoletti? We don't want to sell him. He is an important player to our squad and he is not on the market. We have not received any official offer for him".
