With their place in next season's Serie A secured, Cagliari are now focused on player moves. The Sardinian club are working on retaining Radja Nainggolan who joined them on loan and whose contract with Inter expires in 2022.
Cagliari's initial offer of €3 million was deemed too low, while Inter are also considering rescinding Nainggolan's contract but that would make him demand a different salary from Giulini's club.
In an effort to reach an agreement quickly, Cagliari have raised their offer to about €5 million structured in following manner: around €2 million upfront, with Cagliari giving up the scudetto bonus they are due from the Barella deal from two summers ago.
