Cagliari, Pavoletti: "Napoli? I don't hold grudges, we've tried but we may have tried a little more. I'm fine at Cagliari"

He seemed a little lost at the beginning of his new adventure with Cagliari's jersey, scoring few goals and not being in a great in front of the keeper: things that haven't happened a lot to Leonardo Pavoletti. He only needed the right ball to be decisive again, with a perfect cross that got Benevento down. Pavo's back, but he could already have been at Cagliari three years ago: "Everything was done, from Zeman's ok, to a booked a flight by Cagliari. I even had drinks with my friends from Livorno to say farewell before I would leave. Then, complications got with Sassuolo - has the striker told to La Gazzetta dello Sport- I'm now fine here, though: the sea, warm people and right football principles for me".

"Italy national team? I didn't do well on my first time. Conte called me for the stage for the Euro, it was the TV to told me. The second time, in august 2016, it was a bit of a disappointment. I thought I would at least play for 5 minutes: Chiellini's red card robbed me playing time against Israel, then against Germany I warmed up a lot but didn't get to play". Pavoletti then talks about the book "Il vecchio e il mare": "I felt alone so started to read a lot and that book helped me. It gave me hope and courage: I didn't have to think about what I didn't have but about what I had to do to get it".

"At the beginning I didn't even want to become a footballer, I was looking for a life where I could work the less possible. Napoli? I don't hold grudges, we've tried, we may have tried a little more but I didn't get on the right train for once. I was like a fish out of water there: playing times, the needed pace and technical skills aren't suited to me, it's not the game that gets out most my characteristics".
