Cagliari are looking to give manager Semplici a reinforcement in the midfield.
In addition to Monza's Valoti, the Sardinian club are also targeting Mario Lemina who returned to Southampton after a season on loan at Fulham.
Lemina previously played in Serie A at Juventus between 2015 and 2017.
