Sometimes there are some coincidences that can't be explained. On Thursday the square in front of Como's stadium will be dedicated to former Milan and Azzurri striker Stefano Borgonovo, who passed away in 2013 after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease in the US) Borgonovo has ties to Bayern Munich who will face Juventus on Wednesday, in fact he scored arguably the most memorable goal of his career against the German club on April 18th 1990 in the Champions League semifinal while he was playing for Milan.
If that wasn't enough of an inexplicable coincidence, today Borgonovo's wife Chantal revealed an interesting back story:"Stefano's last message before he passed away was an email to Pep Guardiola. The match between Bayern and Juventus is significant, I remember Stefano's goal that brought Milan to the final" Despite his devastating illnesses, Borgonovo kept up his spirits until the end, he was able to communicate through a computer and a foundation in Italy was dedicated to raise funds for the fight against the disease.
