A reoccurring question after the voices that have tied him to PSG this week: "Will Bonucci stay or leave Milan?"
One of the questions was directed to Gennaro Gattuso after Milan played Novara in a friendly match today, and his response seemed to leave an opening for his captain to leave: "I spoke with Leo, I spoke with all of the players, but I repeat: Leo is a great professional and a great player, an unbelievable player. In these moments, you need to listen to also what the players say and we'll see, but today I can only speak well of Leo, for what he is giving and for what he has given, and hope that he gives."
"However, there are also moments in which you have to respect the will of the player: I think when a player behaves like a professional, on my part there is no bitterness. We will see, he definitely wants to win, but even we want to win, I don't like to be here to lose. A goodbye? I know what we said, the club knows, we'll wait and see, because he is an important player and a player we want to hold onto at all costs."
It was a question also that a fan directed towards Bonucci at halftime from the sideline, as he stated "Stay with us, captain," to which the player responded in a colder way: "I know what I must do, you don't have to tell me." Words that do not clearly define his future or dismiss any talk of an exit. A little more than a year after he has arrived from Juventus, Bonucci could already be on his way out of Milan.
