Bayern Munich are actively working on a number positions as they look to strengthen their side ahead of next season.

Beginning with midfield, where it's seen by Thomas Tuchel's side as an important priority to strengthen.

West Ham United’s Declan Rice, who will leave the Europa Conference League winners this summer, was seen as the priority target, but has opted to remain in the Premier League.

This has led to Bayern turning their attention elsewhere - with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong seen as a key target. Although it remains unknown if the Dutch midfielder would be keen on a move to Germany, whose preference is to stay at Barcelona.

However, Barcelona are in need of player sales to help raise money and the sale of de Jong would certainly help ease their financial situation. The idea of Bayern testing the waters is a possibility.

Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, who is expected to leave the Italian side this summer, is also among midfielders that has been dicussed at Bayern.

Onto defence, where Bayern have been the most proactive at this early stage.

With the imminent arrival of Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro on a free transfer, who is set to sign a three-year deal with the German club, Bayern have quickly shifted their attention to the centre-back position.

Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae is seen as the priority target for Bayern, who are confident a deal can be agreed. The 26-year-old has a release clause that can be activated in July.

Finally, onto to the right-back position, where Bayern are exploring a move for Manchester City’s Kyle Walker as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who has no intention of signing a new contract with Bayern - with his current deal set to expire in June 2024.

There is a feeling Walker could leave the Champions League winners this summer, with his current contract also set to expire in 2024.

Many deals are being worked on, but it’s too early to predict what the exact outcome will be.
