Barcelona is eyeing two players on expiring contracts in 2021, Serigo Aguero and Georginio Wijnaldum. There have been contacts between Barça and the Man City striker, who has announced he will leave the Premier League club after the season. The contacts were meant to feel out the player's interest.
Aguero is an opportunity for a club like Barcelona, who are evaluating a possible deal, especially considering the friendship between him and Messi. Aguero would accept the club but there are two problems: one, Barça's staff don't consider Aguero their number one target, preferring a younger prospect in attack. Secondly, wages, a large amount of which will be requested by Aguero whose current deal nets him €13m per season.
Another potential target of the Blaugrana is Georginio Wijnaldum. The Liverpool midfielder is also out of contract in June, and is a possibility for Barcelona as he is younger than Aguero and earns a salary more in line with what the club can take on. Both players remain a possibility for the Catalan club. For Aguero, even, as PSG make their heavy push for him.
