Report by Matteo Moretto
The heavy loss in the Champions League to Paris St Germain had intensified the rumors that Luis Enrique would be leaving Barcelona, and today the former Roma manager announced he won't be returning to the club next season. The blaugrana have begun considering how to replace him, with Jorge Sampaoli as the likely front runner since he matches the club's philosophy and has achieved excellent results at Sevilla, it also doesn't hurt that he's an Argentine like Messi- the contacts have begun despite president Castro's resistance.
Ernesto Valverde is also in the mix since he came close to joining Barcelona twice and has proven himself at Bilbao. Antonio Conte has always been held in high regard at Barcelona, but the Italian manager could soon sign a contract extension with Chelsea. While Luis Enrique has announced he'll leave, Barcelona is working to find his replacement.
